For almost 5 centuries now, bingo had been one of the biggest games being played worldwide. We can trace its history back to Italy in the year 1530. It was originally designed to be a lottery game. The first and original name of this game was known to be “Lo Giuoco Code Lotto.” In the 1700 in France, the inclusion of playing cards and tokens were incorporated in the game bingo. The calling out and shouting of numbers became a common practice as well.

The game Bingo made history and penetrated America by 1929. It first appeared at a carnival located near Atlanta Georgia. Way back then the game bingo was called the beano. This is because it was played with the use of some dried beans, a couple of rubber stamps and cardboard sheets. It was a gentleman by the name of Edwin Lowe who brought the game to New York. He had adapted and copied the game beano and tried to sell some 12-set cards of bingo for $1 per set which he then called and claimed as the Lowe bingo game. According to some stories one of his friends got excited in winning the jackpot that he accidentally shouted BINGO instead. From then on beano was known and called as bingo already.
